Park Ridge Pickleball Club Golf Outing

Led by: Sandy Rouhselang & Pam Jones-Gibson
Most Recent Location: Tam O’Shanter Golf Course
Last Held: Summer 2024

Believe it or not, the PRPC Golf Outing has roots going all the way back to 2016, when Tom Gawne organized the very first event near his lake cabin in Wisconsin. That original scrambles-style tournament brought out 22 adventurous members and started what would become a cherished (and competitive) tradition. It ran for several years — until COVID paused things in 2020.

Thanks to Sandy Rouhselang, the tradition came back swinging in 2023, though the event was canceled at the last minute due to extreme heat. Luckily, the skies cooperated in 2024, and about 40 PRPC members hit the greens for a fantastic day at Tam O’Shanter.

Highlights from 2024:

  • Fun Format: Scrambles-style teams of four, mixing skill levels to keep things relaxed and inclusive

  • Contests: Longest Drive, Longest Putt, and Closest to the Pin

  • Mulligans for a Cause: Players could buy up to 2 mulligans for $5 each, with all proceeds going to NAMI

  • Prizes & Glory: The lowest-scoring team walked away with prizes—and of course, bragging rights

Sandy’s already planning the next one for this summer, so dust off those clubs and get ready to tee it up!
